Petoskey Pendant

This is an awesome specimen of petoskey stone set in 925 silver. These ancient coral fossils were actually living coral 350 million years ago. They fed on plankton taken in through the middle spot or the mouth. Furthermore, this center eye petrified over time with silt after mud fell into the openings. Finally, once glaciation occurred, it flung rocks of this matter in different directions. A lot of these intriguing fossil stones are found at inlet and beaches in Michigan after frozen ice gives way and rolls over more stones to be found every spring.

Other stones can be found in states such as Iowa, Indiana, Illinois and other countries including Asia, Germany, England and Canada.

Petoskey stone helps with being mindful of our emotions and helps develop our intuitive nature. It helps drive creativity in special projects. Additionally, it literally translates to "Sunbeams of Promise" to people of Native American heritage.
