About Lightning Bolt
The "Lightning Bolt" brand was born in Hawaii in the 1960s as a surf brand.
It is said to have started when legendary surfer Gerry Lopez and his friends began using surfboards with the "lightning bolt" symbol, and started manufacturing and selling surfboards.
In 1971, it made a sensational world debut with Gerry Lopez's brilliant surfing on the North Shore, and quickly spread as a legendary super brand among surfers around the world.
Furthermore, its popularity became firmly established when the Hollywood movie "BIG WEDNESDAY" (Big Wednesday), in which it appeared in 1978, became a big hit.
